About Joslin Diabetes Center

Since its founding in 1898 by a single physician, Elliott P. Joslin, MD, Joslin Diabetes Center has revolutionized the diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and education of diabetes and its related conditions worldwide for more than a century. The physicians in the Joslin Clinic and the more than 300 scientists at Joslin are committed to pursuing innovative pathways of discovery to prevent, treat, and cure type 1 and type 2 diabetes and their complications. Through our affiliation with Harvard Medical School and our staff of thought leaders and medical experts with a vast range of research and clinical expertise, Joslin has emerged as the global leader in innovative research and pioneering approaches to education and clinical care.

In 2006, Joslin was reaccredited for six years by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). Joslin achieved exemplary status in four accreditation elements crucial to outstanding CME: Planning, Needs Assessment, Activity Evaluation, and Program Evaluation - one more than required for the status of "Accreditation with Commendation", the highest rating available for a CME provider. The hallmark of Joslin CME activities is the translation of cutting-edge clinical and research insights into practical applications for the clinician and ultimately, into better health outcomes.
