Contents of This CME Activity

Acute appendicitis is a common surgical condition associated with an acute-phase reaction, and in young children, the rate of appendectomy with normal appendices may be as high as 50%. Inflammatory markers that aid in more accurate preoperative diagnosis of acute appendicitis in children would help reduce this false-negative rate.
